Synopsis

 

Written and directed by Chay Yew and produced in Chinatown's Castelar Elementary School, a multi-media theatrical performance with dance, drama and drag. A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY tells the history of Asian Americans through the eyes of an immigrant drag queen named Miss Visa Denied. Through story and song, we see episodes about the migration of Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, and so on.
